Warm Tip: The brass hose connector OD is 19mm, some hoses will have a really snug fit and some others will be really hard to attach to the coupler. If your garden hose ID is 5/8-inch(16mm), One easy way is to soak the end of the hose with boiling water. Be very careful as both the hose and the coupler will be too hot to touch. You will need pliers! The boiling water will soften the hose and make installing the coupler much easier.
